The Leadership of Extracting Simplicity
We live in complex times with regards to information, policy and compliance.
This affords the possibility for growth and learning but heightens overwhelm and confusion around the best path to take and who to listen to.
We need a certain sight to assist this paradox. We need to see the larger picture and pick out the patterns leading to success and a positive culture while discerning the waste and dead ends. This is often easier with some help.
What Simplicity Extraction looks like in the administration of small business:
A simplification of software,
Optimising how one app works in relation to other apps e.g. Xero and Job Apps,
Tweaking of a process over time to eliminate unnecessary tasks,
Pruning of ideas to produce a clear strategic direction that aligns to the owners strengths, worklife balance and desire for quality and contribution to clients and projects,
Seeing both the whole and it’s parts in relationship to one another,
Capability in understanding cause and effect of action and mindeset,
Plotting a path forward that is both logical and creative yet flexible and stable enough to sustain success.
We could call this ‘extracting simplicity’. An emerging need in small trade and service businesses. A leadership model fit for administration in small business.
